PALM BEACH GARDENS, FLA – November 2, 2016 – Laura King, Vice President at First Citizens Bank has been named one of four finalists for the prestigious award of Woman of the Year.
The Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce hosts its Women in Business Council’s Woman of the Year Annual Luncheon on November 10, 2016, whereby the finalists will be recognized by their peers and one will be named 2016 Woman of the Year.
In a pre-interview, King was asked who is her biggest female role model and why. “My strong work ethic and ambition came from my mother who raised me on her own while working three jobs and putting herself through college.” said King. When asked her advice to young women, King replied, “Do the thing that you fear the most because accomplishing that will bring you the biggest reward.”
Recently, Laura served as Co-Chair for the annual fundraising ball for Cancer Alliance of Help & Hope, where she also sits as a board member. With her direction, CAHH raised over $100,000, which went directly to help fund cancer patient’s financials. In 2015 Laura co-chaired the Magnificent Leaders Awards at the ball where 4 outstanding leaders in the community were nominated and recognized. She is the Immediate Past-Chair of the Small Business Advisory Council and is an active board member with the Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce.
